That oil fill neck will get very hot and maybe melt. If you can fit a blanket in there, itll be fine. If you cant, then you might wanna lose the neck and put the cap right into the cover.

 

I have a blanket on the way as well as a low profile oil cap.

I really appreciate your comments as i have read your thread many times and am using it for a lot of reference.

I got the fuel bucket gutted and the pumps mounted in the fuel bucket. I also got the wiring all done. I followed three6GMC thread and it seemed straight forward hopefully i did it correctly lol.

 

I started getting the motor back togther and pretty much everything is back together. Having some problems with two items. IM running a pcv catch can so what do i do with this big whoel in the top of the intake?



Also i have no idea where this went?
Anyone help me out?

 

Take the line that you removed from the top and cut the plastic tube with the elbow on it. Then you can cap it.

The second pic has a second line that runs over to right behind the throttle body. You'll see the nipple right there.

Yes, you need a 2 or 3 BAR map sensor to run boost and be able to tune for it properly.

The ZL1 map sensor is a 3 bar and will work great. I believe the 2010+ or 2011+ trucks will be direct plug and play for wiring. The 07-09 trucks for sure need pins swapped at the connector.

 

Ok guys I'm back for more stupid questions.

Can I run the flex fuel sensor in the return line? It seems like a pretty big restriction to be in the feed.

Also how important is it to have the fuel rails bolted down. The fuel rails I ordered just don't line up at all. If I need to boot them on I will have to make a little bracket that pressed down on them. Thanks

 

You have to bolt the fuel rails down. Having the injectors come out would be bad. leaning out cylinders and spraying gasoline all over a hot engine bay. The sensor works best as close to the injectors as possible for the computer to make instant adjustments for the amount of alcohol detected. That being said I'm putting mine in the return line for the same reason.
