Default installing crank bolt?

I will be pinning my crank on my 6.2L and wanted to know what is safe to lock the fly wheel to torque it down with a stock bolt. Im not paying $100+ for a Kent Moore tool. Should I put some APR lube on the bolt 1st or dry or lock tite? 37ftibs then 140 deg right?

I've never used any thread locker on the crank bolt, usually I just use my impact to tighten.

+2 for using an impact.. I've reused mine countless number of times.

I have always put my crank bolt in dry also. I have done the tq sequence a well as used a impact. Both worked fine, I can't say that I would trust a stock bolt with a impact, I've use it on ARP's. Stock torque to yield bolt is made to twist and don't like that combo with a impact gun. Just my opinion anyway.

The only problem I've had with a crank bolt is when I forgot to install it lol, drove 7k miles without it! Thankfully it was a new crank and pulley, otherwise it probably would not have made it.

Aw hell if it lasted that long, you don't need it. I bet you were a bit suprise when you found that.

Heck yeah I was! Was finishing up replacing the ac compressor and when I went to put the skid plate on I noticed a hole in the center of the crank pulley. In the bottom drawer of my tool box next to the crank pulley puller and installer was the bolt still in the bag.

Wrap a serpentine belt around the crank pulley and the pulley by the ALT.
