Default Hybrid 9 inch rear vs 14 bolt.........

OK guys, the big questing for all you 6.2 litre folk. I'm sure the question has popped up in your mind once or twice; how good is that 9 inch hybrid rear axle compared to the 2wd Silverado SS of the past? The question sure is popping up in my mind B4 I make the investment in my own Chariot, little known fact- in our family we all refer to Moms 2007 Escalade as the 'Chariot'. Anyone have any answers, or any comparisons on the axles..................

Hmmm- I was under the impression that 5.3's came with the 10 bolt as they don't have the cajones to break stuff..................

I do not understand why so many people want to swap in these mammoth rears?? The rear in these trucks are just fine with a good center section, a good girdle, gears.. Stock axles will take 800+ hp.. IMO it is a waste unless your in a truck that weights 6k with 700 hp... Not to start bs, but there is other places to dump money..

If a 10 bolt is so good for all that power, why don't they stick'em in with the 6.2 liter rigs. Anyways, perhaps I wasn't quite clear that I was addressing the 6.2 liter bretern...............................

Notice how I said if you put a GOOD CENTER-GEARS-GIRDLE in there?? So rather then going the the trouble to swap a rear out, for a 9 inch, or hunt down a 14 bolt, just ad them things, beat the **** out of it..

OK, I think we're veering from the original question of the 9inch hybrid rear end that comes in the 6.2 rigs compared to the stoutness of the SFA 14 bolt................

well we partially answered the question to the best of our knowledge by basically saying "its good enough" unless you plan on adding ALOT of power.

that much overkill on even a 500whp truck would be a waste of money IMO
kinda like deerhunting with a .50 cal....
