How to run 12s with 6.2L
I am getting a new 2010 Silverado or Sierra Ext cab, 4x4 w/ 6.2L w/ 3.73 gears... what would it take to get into the high 12's without boost or nitrous? Now keep in mind I do want to run a larger tire (305 or 315's on 17 or 18" wheel) because of a smaller lift 3-4" or so which I know will hurt a little.
My own suggestions would be:
* Tune (Blackbear or similar)
* CAI (GM Performance Intake or similar)
* Exhaust (Corsa sport)
* Long tube 1 3/4" Headers w/ high flow catted Y (American Racing)
* Torque Converter (2800 stall to keep towing capabilities)
* Cam
* Heads (Would like to stay away if possible)
* Electric fans? (Not sure if these come with clutch fans or electric)
What else would you guys suggest or opinions? What are most people with these trucks running 1/4 mile?

honestly, with your restrictions listed you'd probably have better luck finding a snowcone stand in hell.
Can you get the VIN from that vehicle? I went to the Chevrolet site and they won't even let you build one with a 6.2 unless you get a Cadillac or Denali.

found some LT and LTZs Decent price for a 6.2L 6speed. Put a front mount turbo on it and forget having to pile a ton of parts on it to make 12s. The FMT will make it an awesome tow and go vehicle.

i thin it can be done, but not quite as easy as you think it will be. it took me a 100 shot to break into the 12s, but i dont have a cam or stall... if you get a bigger stall than youre thinking, a pretty aggressive cam and some good heads i think its possible if you have a great tune and the trans is working flawlessly. but if everything isnt working in perfect harmony, not gona happen IMO
