Default How to make the Varram intake work with a 2010?

Hello guys, Just received my 2010 Extended Cab Sierra 2wd 6.2L yesterday : ) I noticed a few folks in here with 09'+ trucks running the Varram RAM Air intake made for the 07'-08' models. The MAF sensor is quite different comparing 07'-08' MAF to the MAF sensor in 09'-10' flex fuel trucks. I know some of you just chop the MAF right off the stock intake, just wondering if you somone has pics or tips on how to convert?

Any help would be greatly appereciated.

Thanks...

can't help you on the vararam, mine hasn't arrived. when i ordered it they asked about the maf type, they may have an adaptor or something you can use.

Didn't take long to get the 2010, is it a ltz or lt.
I saw your other post about the brushed alum panels vs woodgrain, didn't know you could get that, should be nice,
get some pics up

I called vararam today to see where my kit was and spoke to Patrick.
Really nice guy and loves to talk.
He is waiting to get a 2010 6.2 in their shop to finish up the design.
Just finished the new style maf setup for 5.3 and wants to be sure 6.2 works the same

He told me at length the amount of work and testing they do to ensure the stuff works for the app.
They do alot of logs with hpt and watch ltft's and a/r ratio to make sure they get stuff
right . He told me there are big differences in air delivery from moving the maf to the throttle body, makes sense of course.
Also, the lenght, diameter and even the material of the maf housing all make a difference
The indexing of the maf in the housing is also critical.

Sounds like they are into what they are doing and not just banging stuff out the door.
Also offered to look at some hpt logs after I install my intake and help me with tuning,[I am a novice]

Kool deal, thanks for the info. Do you know if they tested on 09's? I think we have the same MAF...

I compared the differences in my stock tune to my buddies 09' Sierra 6.2L. No much different besides tranny values (he has 4x4).

I didn't ask about 09, but you may be able to get whatever maf housing they come up with and
use on your existing filter housing.
I haven't seen one in person so I don't know if it is a separate piece or not.
