Help a brother with his decision

Ok, here's the deal. I really like the ARH headers, but I live where they follow the CA emission standards. My truck isn't due for emissions for another 3 years, but was wondering what everybody does when it's time for the dreaded emissions test?
Do you swap the OEM back in?
Suck it up and hope you pass?

Are you in Maricopa County? If so, they don't care about anything other than your OBDII scan test and gas cap leak test. I've passed smog twice with no cats...once with a blower and headers, and once with the turbo setup. They didn't even blink at it. Just make sure that any OBDII codes are disabled in the tune when it comes time to smog it.

Yep newer trucks they check for codes and the leakdown test. you should be fine.
cars that are ~10years old(not 100% on the age, but my 95 had to be tested) are put on the rollers, and have the exhaust tested

On a new vehicle you get 5 years without a test, so if yours is a 2008 you don't have to test until 2013. After that it's every time you renew registration. Since you can renew for either 1 or 2 years at a time, you smog every 1 or 2 years depending on how you renew.

Anything that's not OBDII goes on the rollers. I think OBDII started in 97, so anything prior to that goes on the rollers and gets the tailpipe test. Anything 97 or newer is just a code scan.
