Default headers tune/MPG

How many here did long tubes and a tune and kept there fuel mileage?
My 6.2 bone stock got very decent mileage, since ive done ARH and a PG tune the mileage dropped by 3mpg city and hwy.And yes I was babying it,light throttle slow starts.I then went with a jesse bubb tune.Pretty much the same results, performance of the two are close,I picked up maybe 1-2 MPH on a marked stretch of road appox 1/4 mile with ARH and tune over stock.

Past trucks have gained or stayed close to the same mileage with header/tune mods.

I know some will say DYNO TUNE, well both tuners looked at logs and said its fine.In the past I have had good luck with email tunes/logs

Just a thought .but if your long tubes are large diameter then you definitely moved the torque band up inthe rpm range and to get that truck moving needs all the torque you can get down low ......less torque down low meand more throttle position to get it moving FWIW

I'm gonna disagree. I would wager that there has been no loss in low end torque.

Camaro dyno comparing 1&3/4", 1&7/8", 2".

Gonzo I guess I'm gonna be the guy suggesting a dyno tune lol.

No problem you may be correct in this situation just a thought and what I have seen on race engine dyno testing many times ......I looked quickly at the dyno graph ....since we move the truck from off idle to say 3k in normal driving did the headers have more torque down there than the manifolds ? that was my point not sure if that shown on those dyno charts

I definitely lost low end with my headers over stock manifolds, but really picked up middle and top end. Also dropped 2-3mpg.

The graph shows an increase in torque from the moment the drums start turning even with the 2" primarys and no cats.
