You don't need a lift, I tossed mine in from underneath with all 4 tires on the ground. Put it on jack stands and have at 'er!

couple questions on the install of the headers. I am useing new GM gaskets. I was reading up on it and this mite be out dated. Do I need locking header bolts or will the old stock GM bolts be fine? Dealer said they would install them for $110. manifolds only bill out for 1hr. beats doing them on the cold concrete with slush falling off the truck. Anything I need to know about the install

Stock bolts are fine. I reused mine and haven't had any issues, headers have been on the truck a year.

Main reason I don't like stock manifold bolts is that I have seen allot of them break. They are prone to breaking off in head.

Stock bolts are fine here too. Putting them in yourself is always my choice. Might take a little longer but in the long run your only helping yourself. Knowledge and money wise. They are headers not building a complete motor.

I've had great luck for years with stage 8 locking header bolts on my car. Ill run them on my truck when I get my longtubes for it.

Depends which header bolts you go with. Also, you could do ARP studs which would be the best of all.
