Headers and exhaust

In the spring im going to add headers w/cats probably ARH or Justin from Black Bear told me he mite be working with a company to design a set of headers for the 6.2L trucks. He told me I should go with 1 3/4" for better bottom end. Im looking to get some of my milage back. I have plenty of power but with the Maggie TVS1900 im only seeing 12-13mpg out of boost down from a solid 15mpg befor the SC. I like that my truck is quiet but it could be louder as long as theres no drone and adding headers wouldnt be bad but I want to have duals out the back so was thinking of a stainless exhaust made up to work with the 3" drop and Helwig rear sway bar. should I go with the y pipe into 1 then into 2 after the muffler or should i do a dual exhaust with cross over? Truck is 4wd. Should i go 4" or stay 3.5"? Ill put Borla mufflers on it.
Or will the free flowing exhaust not do anything for mileage for me.
I dont see why every one said I would see the same or better milage as long as i stay out of boost but I lost 4mpg. All i did was add a SC.
I was going for a sleeper but now with the 2/3 drop im going for a if GM made a 2012 Silverado SS
also is there anything I need to know about installing headers? I hear about plug wires?

Get the 1⅞ kooks, plug wires are fine with them and you don't lose anything down low. You're boosted, you need the exhaust free flowing and not a restriction. I beat stalled 5.3 rcsb's out the hole on radials, and my buddy with a 4x4 2010 6.2 gets me by a nose on street tires because I spin, then I walk away. I haven't lost anything down low.

I've seen the dyno sheets on back to back tests, there is no loss of torque with 1⅞. I like the ARH hearders myself.

If your tune was set for max power you can loose mpgs but keep in mind you're running winter gas now too!

There are allot of variables that effect fuel mileage. I can get the exact same highway mileage on my truck as it did stock on the highway. There is nothing stock left in my driveline. Winter fuel does not help, tune could be a bit rich, and whether you like it or not I bet your right foot is heavier then before.

i have been driving it normal staying out of boost trying to get better milage. I run with the cruise on most of the time. The BB tune im running is for mileage and Justin said everything was perfect except the 8psi fp l loose at wot.
Dont know what fuel they were selling in Nov. But I got 15-20 befor installing the SC then 12-16 16 on the thruway. I dont think they changed the fuel in between the time I put the SC on
What about running dual or single exhaust. I want twin pipes out the back.

Shit son read some exhaust threads, there's only about 500 of them....
Want the best of everything? Do exactly what I did.

At your hp level, I would do a 3in true dual setup with a x pipe.

This setup never fails :) but then again 4'' wouldn't be a bad idea I gained a solid 38rwhp with the 4"

With the ARH headers do they come with 5 o2 bungs? 1 for a gauge. Should I go with cats? Im not worried about the inspection. Just dont want a CEL or sulfer smell or any down side from not having them. The powers not a concern just a daily driver. Im only doing headers hoping ill get some mileage back.
