Default good starter replacement

My starter is starting to go and there is no shortage of options for replacement. Summit / Jegs / Speedway / Amazon / OEM / mini / high torque / blonde / redhead / the list is endless....... Anyone have any recommendations or warnings to stay away from certain brands? Its going in a 2009 Avalanche with a LMG 5.3 with longtubes.

I'd go with the blonde.

Now if it was the water pump, I might choose the redhead.

Either a new OEM starter or a rebuilt starter from Napa.

Napa rebuilds the stock delco units and they offer a lifetime warranty, there is also currently a $20 mail/online rebate for starters through the end of July.

You can rebuild it yourself, it is not that complicated imo

I'd go New Oem, if it was my truck. But that's just my .02 cents.

Pull it off and take it e rebuilder, won't cost much to replace brushes and clean it up.
