i had an 88 long bed bagged when i was in HS...i loved being different. now that ive had a chance to own different trucks i love my SBs vs LBs. everyone has their own likes and dislikes. so get your LB, if your looking for a DD an performance later...honestly pick up an ECLB vs a SCLB. get the 4.8 with a 3:73s, or 4:10s i dont know the options you can get. anyways an when its time to upgrade just buy a 6.0/6.2 with an 80E an have a healthy truck that you didnt pay an arm an a leg for... just my .02

I can't stand extended and crew cabs so... Thinking a single cheap (I know, an oxymoron with any kind of boost) baby turbo would be perfect. I wouldn't HAVE to run a stall, wouldn't lose torque, keep my mileage, and if I got stuck with 3.23's or something (based on dealer stock and what deals I can get) they will actually help me spool. Nitrous is good, but power on demand with no refills is great...

true.
i understand your SCLB likes vs the EC/CC but i started out SC and loved it, then got to an EC and never wanted to go back. then i was forced to drive a CC on road trips and such so i got the itch for a CC vs my EC and here i am with a CCSB lol.

small turbo? ha poop on that...go big or go home

anyways, good luck with your purchase...post pics when you get it.

Yeah, i've driven all sorts of crew and ext. cab trucks, along with plenty of suvs. I understand having the space inside the cab is nice, I just like having the back of the cab right behind me.

Do your best to get 4.11's. The 3.23's really suck the wind out of the 4.8 since it needs to rev up. A guy at my old appt would leave me behind by 4 truck lengths with just 4.11's vs my 3.23's.

I have a airaid tube, k+n filter, flowmaster with turn down, tool box, roll up tonneao, and I get 20-22 hwy at 75 mph. City seems to be 15-16 and La traffic 17-19 roughly. I can't wait to get my tune, and headers.

Get the LB I wish I had one 1/2 the time.

09 and 10 there is a third cat after the "Y". There is a braided flex pipe too. Thats why headers won't bolt up to an 09 exhaust without fabbing. I had to get an 07 -08 catback to bolt up to my ARH longtubes and catted "Y" pipe on my 09 GMC.

If I have cash on hand at the time (or get a used truck) I'd go for the cheapest truck with whatever rear end then get it built with 4.11's, a true track, and a girdle cover. If that's not an option, my next best thing is to go for 3.73's and a g-80 from the factory. I really don't like the g80 though. First upgrade before bothering with anything else on a non 3.73/g80 truck would be gears and a carrier.
