Fuel Filter??
#12
It's got a strainer and a real filter built into the pump. Neither are servicable. I work at the dealer parts dept and I couldn't sell it to you without selling you the whole pump. I have heard of people adding a serviceable filter but because your fuel regulator is built into the pump too, it can cause your fuel pressure to drop at the rail and cause problems. This comes up alot and I'm not thrilled about it either. Somebody thought it was good idea but it wasn't me, I promise.

GM moved the fuel filter to the tank in 2004 and is non serviceable, with the exception of the flex fuel and the 4.3 V6. In 2005 the flex fuel was moved to the tank. The 4.3 V6 stayed on the frame rail for a while longer.
This was done when they went to a returnless fuel system.
Most manufacturers have done this. The filter is designed to last for the life of the fuel pump. This has not caused any problems in the seven years the filter has been in the tank...

Modern cars are like microwaves according to the EPA and the engineers that design them. When they break at or around 100K when the fuel filters crap on them we are supposed to trade them in and buy a new one. They are real air polluters also WTF ever stupid logic by my way of thinking. Guess the major majority of the motoring public are morons or just gullible so they fall into this category though. Ok off the soapbox now. good night
