Turn key on, wait for door chime to beep and stop then depress the gas pedal 3 times. It wont work if the chime is still beeping, maybe why people are saying 5 times? Makes no difference if oil life is displayed on the DIC which is only on 03+, judging by the op's sig it's a 01. Change oil will flash 5 time and the start and will flash 5 more and go out, on 03+ it will say oil life reset. I do this 100 times a week.

I thought you had to unlock the doors twice, beep the horn, put down the passenger window, back up 6ft, pop the hood, and press and hold the 'trip' button while displaying oil life remaining.

okay seriously... all i do is press and hold the button where it displays a percentage of life left. are we not talking about 07+ truck here?

You forgot to tune your am radio dial to 65.9, then fm radio to 96.3, release the parking brake, all while standing on your head with your tongue sticking out to the left.......
