Default CAM EXPERTS heree!

okay.. i have a comp cams thumpr 219-233 on my 5.3 RCSB, stock stall, with 3.73.. and ls7 sprocket..

the truck runs really bad.. from a dead stop to like 2.200 rpms... i cant even do a burnout... its like dead in the low ranges...

i havent tuned it yet... i just give it a little gas with the diablosport hand held programmer.. and give it some advance on the spark timing..

i need some help here.. it will get better with some tuning.. i need advices experiences and posible solutions

get custom tune and a ~3000 stall. That is a pretty big cam fo a 5.3, tight LSA.

that cam REQUIRES tune and stall per CompCams website.
You can't run a cam that large without a tune. Well, you can but it'll run horribly.

I'd run a 3600 converter and a custom tune. You're going to have serious traction problems though.

Big *** cam' for a 5.3 .. You need atleast a 3200 to get if off the line . I had a 212\228 cam' and. It was sloppy off the line .. The most I'll put on a 5.3 would be a 228 R cam with a 3400-3800 cam'. For a good powerband ' a custom tune is a must ' due to that cam u have ' pulls really. Good. All the way thru 6800.

You need a larger stall to allow the motor to spin a little more to allow the cam to actually begain to make power. Start with a higher stall like 3200 n tune see how it feels if it's still "sluggish" send your convertor in for a re stall at 3800 even 4000.

What heads are u running???

ALWAYS ask questions BEFORE doing the swap.

Tune it and then you'll like it a lot more but you'll still get walked by people with smaller cams until you get a stall put in.

if you dont have a big stall and you run a big cam, it's common that ur low end is going to suck.
