I need to do my heads also and I never ran my truck with anything except the 17' nittos and the 20' nittos off my camaro. I also wanted to try some weight reductions. Nothing dramatic. Tailgate hitch spare tire etc.

Looking to update my times again in early March. Got the Circle D converter and flywheel yesterday and it's getting installed today. Also got my transmission running MUCH better with the stock converter. Will do some adjustments and tweaks over the next few weeks with the new 2800 stall and then head out to see where things fall.

Is a mod or anyone going to update the first post in this thread for all the other times posted up by people the past couple of weeks?

spare is a big one. the tailgate plays into the aerodynamics of the truck. which is why i never lowered it or removed it. never removed the hitch, i was usually the one who towed people back from the end of the track when they broke stuff.

to the rest of us on the stock convertor, there are a couple tricks in the tuning that can lead to dropped et's.

I don't remember the last time I actually had to tow something with my truck, I think I will just remove the hitch for good till I need it and then take the time to bolt it up really quick

I left the hitch on when I ran my ECSB at the track so I could drag mustangs down the track

LOL I still have front tow hooks, I have no shame in pulling something in reverse if they blow up
