Sorry Stacey, didn't mean to jack your thread. I needed to get schooled on PCM's. I didn't know/realize how much of a diff there is in PCM's from the 02's.

Stacy C, for one that owns a couple of race cars you seem lost with a simple truck. Your truck will respond to the same mods as any other internal combustion system. You have shot down many good opinions, what is the answer you want?

Stage 1: tune intake exhaust
Stage 2: headers cam blower
Stage 3: gears transmission liquid injection

That would be my route on a new vehicle.

Any reason you'd do transmission last?

trever I dont race computer controled cars nor do I want to race this truck I,m looking for better mpg. I can tell by your post you want to do mods to race I,m not interested in racing this truck its for daily driving and plan on getting 200,000 miles out of it .If i want to go fast Ill get in my dragster hope this clears up what Im lookig for (best mpg perf gain would be a plus, but to be honest it will probably never go past half throttle)

I guess I should have preempted that with maybe a shift kit or a Vette Servo. My Tahoe is still on the stock transmission, all I did was put a Vette Servo in once the blower went on. I personally would want to wait until my transmission went on its own, but then again, I have less than 50K on my clock.

So for mpg then, open up the stock airbox, swap muffler and tune, all for less than $1K. I'd suggest BlackBear as well.
