6.2 mods
#1
This is my first post on this forum. I have read many of the posts and have picked up some great info from everyone. I just bought a 2011 chevy cc 6.2 w/ 3.42 gears. I am looking at doing some simple mods, possible tune and cai. I would consider exhaust work but I dont want it too loud and dont want the interior noise when cruising down the highway. Any advise on some reasonably priced mods? I wont be drag racing or putting the truck on a dyno, just want to have some fun with it and tow a boat occasionally. And it will need to pass an emissions test.

I think I will purchase a Diablo tuner. I would love to get a custom tune but I am afraid if I took it to a dealer, they would question the warranty on it. The truck only has 500 miles on it so far. Maybe once the warranty is out, I will get custom tune. How much improvement can I expect from the Diablo?

1st the diablosport=compared to myc custom tune TRASH!! i had one with a custom tune from lew over the internet thru the diablo tuner and still no comparing (dont get me wrong LEW is a awsome guy to deal with but over the internet on a limited tuner cant get you anywhere)! i spent 350 on tuner and 100 on custom tune so 450 bucks that got me not much.. yes made a good difference but why spend that when i spent 350 on a custom tune that also does tranny support and makes a hell of a difference! i was also skeptic about the dealer deal but went once for a door lock and took it off and put it back no big deal but they werent lookn for it either! my suggestion is MAGNAFLOW big body like i got keep the 3.5" pipe and take out the resnator! keep it ran out the back tho dumping it will drone really bad and i hated it! next would be cai i got a airaid and very pleased with it! and i run 93 so i got a 93 custom tune! im telling you you can spend the money on those 3 and run your truck and then add headers and custom y whatever you want and put a diablo on that and your truck will lose time and hp bc of the tune! for the price a diablo is not worth it! i was hard headed and didnt want one bc i figured its close enough, but now that ive done it best thing i ever did and i thank all those who bugged me about getting a custom tune!!! good luck man!

Unless you pop a motor or fry a transmission and it looks suspicious of damage related to a hopped up tune you'll be ok. If you take it in for say an evap code or a misfire they are not going to automatically look for a tune.

It doesn't matter if you return it back to stock. The computer now retains when you flash new programs and they can void your warranty because of this.
