Oh yeah, so I called my normal exhaust shop (which usually has kickass prices and does great work) to get a quote on swapping the muffler for 3.5" pipe. During the phone call I was given two unfortunate bits of news: (1) he doesn't carry the stock or equipment to do any 3.5" exhaust, only 3", and (2) it will be $85 if I have him swap a 3" pipe in where my muffler is. I think that's outrageous and won't be paying that to play with my exhaust sound (not to delete something, anyway) but he has the best rates in town. Any thoughts?

the 3-inch pipe doesn't bother me much, but the $85 to weld it all together does. I want it welded together all nice and perfect, and the ~$30 8UALIVE paid sounds perfect. I want to do it, but I'm going to have to hold off at that premium.
