Anyone swap in a 4L80E into your GMT 900 truck? I have a 2008 RCSB that I'd like to do the swap on.

there is someone with a black lifted truck on one of these forums here or gmfullsize thats done the 4l80 swap. last i seen he was havin problems with it shifting because the electronics was not a direct swap like the older trucks. id imagine you could run a manual valve body though.

Needs to have the program installed either at the dealer or by a tuner that knows how to do it. There is no 4l80e programming in the new computers. I have the tranny to do it. just need to rebuild it and find the time to do so. When i get around to it ill do a writeup. Mines a lifted black 4x4 as well lol, lots more work

pretty sure my truck has a seperate trans controller (has a 4l80 from the factory being a 2500 gasser) from the ecm, I know the 6 speeds definetely do.

the NNBS has a seperate computer just for the tranny correct?

yes they do it sits next to the engine comp in the engine bay

just get HPtuners to reflash your ecu to a 4l80e
