CharlyNali6.2 hit a 14.1 on 24's and spinning on his 07 Denali 6.2 with only tune and Tru-flow Intake just give it some time I just needs some break in and then get a Tune and youll have a low 14 to high 13 second truck easy.

all a VVT delete kit is a new front cover (4.8/5.3/6.0/LS2) that has our cam sensors in the cover(you use your old one) an a timing gear.

I'm aware of what it is and how it functions; so when I first hear of it, advancing down low and retarding up top to carry you a bit further it seemed the best thing since sliced bread...................

im glad your aware of that. i mentioned the parts bc most people dont know and instead of paying 120.00 for a "delete kit" find someone wanting to get rid of a front cover for cheap an you can buy the timing gear for like 15-20.00 vs 120. but to each is own.

Thanks, but I'm still getting at the actual effectiveness of VVT, or like D.O.D. only looks good on paper..................

DOD is a peice of shii thats the stupiest thing GM could have done. on paper the VVT seems cool, but if you think about it, your cam is turned by a springs, just something else to break after a cam swap an cause you to spend more money. so you want gas mileage?buy a 4cyl you want hp buy a vette, cant afford it? build a Truck.

jus because my trucks a CC doesnt mean i wont give your sports car a run for its money. (not directed to you or anyone else) im not rich, but i know how to do my own mechanic work therefore i can build what you have to buy/pay someone to do. once again not directed to you or anyone else.

you arent gonna buy a stock truck an be happy with it, your always gonna change the exhaust, the air intake, the cam, stall, gears. its a never ending battle of going fast, beating the next truck/car.

Yes- manufacturers are always trying to squeeze another MPG here and there and yes, D.O.D. is something that hasn't quite lived up to claims; lower speeds on state roads/ highway, but anything over 72MPH or in the city it's just not feasable. I still think that they pulled something outta the hat w/ VVT, though...................
