Your 6.2 should have 2 connections up front, one for VVT and the other is the cam position sensor, the connector on the back of your other engine is for DOD (displacement on demand) if you do a VVT delete on the 6.2l it will be a complete drop in swap! You will need:

-non VVT 4x cam sproket (06 and up vette ls2/ls3)
-LS2 chain and dampner/tensioner
-non VVT front cover or LS2 style front cover

OR you can just swap the non VVT parts over from your 5.3, You will have to have the DOD that your old 5.3l had turned off in the tune once you get the 6.2 up and running!

what all do you need to do a DOD/vvt delete and do you just leave those sensor unplugged? also do you need to swap out the covers that sit on top of the block from the 5.3 to the 6.2? (5.3 comes with the plug in the rear)

My engine is a l9h if that makes any difference

Leave the DOD off of the 6.2L its un-needed if your swapping for power reasons, you can have it turned off in the tune. And for the VVT delete you need what i listed above or swap the front cover, timing chain, dampner and sprocket from your 5.3L if it is non VVT!

Very Help Full ! just what i need it to read and know... lol but here is the twist in my case.. lol

I have a 2007 (new body style) Sierra 5.3L (Either LMG or LC9) with tune, ported heads, valves and springs. My friend has a 2007 Denali/Yukon 6.2L (L92) Stock. here is were it gets tricky. he is willing to exchange engine for engine, he gets my moded egine with all the goods and i get a stock 6.2L. My truck could get the 6.2L just by changing all the parts of my 5.3L to the 6.2L to delet VVT, but can his Denali/Yukon get my non VVT 5.3L? and if yes how. and if no... absolutely there is no way then let me know so i can burst my bubble... lol

Yeah just don't plug in the vvt sensor on the Yukon my truck was originally vvt but now with the lsx I don't run it no problems or anything just tune it out. This swap is really very easy and straight forward.

Default bit of a problem with cam sproket

well im swapping all the none VVT parts (5.3L) to the 6.2L (to do a VVT delete)
i know is no problem as longs as its on time but my timing marks align with the original VVT sprocket but as soon as i witch the cam sprocket to the none VVT the marks dont align, no problem as longs as it on time but i want to see if any had this problem and i really want the marks to align for reference later on... any suggestions or im doing something wrong.
I uploaded photos first 2 set is on time with vvt and marks aligned second set of pics is on time but with the none vvt sprocket. . Is on time Noting moved but yet is off on the reference marks.. or timing marks.

I have the marks alight to each other and piston #1 in compression.
