Default 2007 ccsb 2wd 5" aluminum driveshaft help.

Truck is a 2007 nnbs crew cab m30 (4l60e trans), 2wd.

I picked up a drive shaft a while back and I was positive it would work. I installed it and the slip yoke seems to be to far out of the trans. From the back of the tailhousing to the yoke "U" there is about 2 1/16" inches of slip yoke shaft exposed. THis seems a bit excessive to me.

I looked up the p/n and it is 15791188. when looking this p/n up I couldn't find any info other than it was for a 2009 silverado. There was nothing about cc sc or the like.

One website said this:

Part Number "15791188" was found for CHEVROLET, but we could not verify the part fits the selected vehicle.
You may still purchase this part below.

Another website said that the updated part number is 20912702.

I punched this info in and it said it works for my truck. Heres what the web said:

Check If It Fits My Car & Get More Parts Info
Part Number:
Your VIN:
Your Light Truck:
Pickup Models 03,43,53 - New Style 4 X 2 2007
CC10543 LY5 M30
This part fits your vehicle application.

Do any of you guys have a length or p/n so I can verify this is the correct shaft. I'm probably looking into this too much but you never know.

do you still have your old shaft for measuring? or did it break?
that does sound a little far out, although is this with the suspension loaded or hanging in the air?

I had that exact amount in my custom DS .. 1" rubber boot on seal on tail housing plus 1" slip yoke showing ... That should be fine .. On that note you should see now that i swapped my 4l60e and installed 6l80e .. My yoke is right at 4" exposed and only 2" in the tail housing .. Your fine mine on the other hand will be replaced nit soon enuff LOL

old shaft is in pieces and in a landfill.
truck is on jacks under the axle.
i have 2" drop shackles which should put the yoke in deeper
the yoke isn't very long so I am guessing it is about 5" total withut measuring which would only be about 3" of spline engagement.
Maybe I have become accustomed to the long one from my 80e.
