I think they're trying to take advantage of an out-of-towner, and I hope you report them directly to GM somehow. That really sucks ....

Get home and take it to a car wash and hose it down and see if it acts up again.

Well before you trade it in let me swap out that 6.2

My 06 dmax had some electrical gremlins when I would get in a heavy rain or go through a touchless laser wash, ended up being a loose connector on the pcm.

How long have you had the truck and the sound system? Not trying to defend the dealership, but there could be "SOME" validity if the stereo system was not installed properly, had it happen to me before.

More likely to have an electrical gremlin like Cody referred to, but things happen. Hope if all gets worked out for ya, sucks to be away from home and have stuff like this happen.

Grounds do some crazy ****.... Might not have been water/rain related at all post up the ground number and codes, probably module communication codes.

A "bad ground" is also an easy out for a 'tech that can't find a problem and the vehicle fixes itself unexplainably.... Just be careful of that.

Codes thrown, C0561, U2014, U0198, U0164, U0155, U0073, U0140. Found short on ground #s 2500, 2501. Anyone have any info on any codes or which grounds those were?
