Default 16" Wheels on a 1500 NHT/14SF truck?

Do 16" wheels fit over the brakes on a 14SF with disc brakes? I'd like to get an extended cab 69" box 4x4 with a 6.0L/6L80e and am noticing that you can't order a NHT one now. You have to buy the 20" wheels with the L76 and Z82. The NHT ones you could order a few months ago had 17" wheels.

Load Range E tires are a ton cheaper for 16" wheels so I'd like to go to 16" wheels if possible. I'd use whatever it came with from the factory for summer use and use the 16" ones for towing.

17"s are all that will fit. you can't get the 6L80E with a extended cab either. Sorry about that.

Damn. Are the brakes that big or did they just get lazy like Chrysler?

I can build a 6.0L/6L80e extended cab on GM's website.

Crew cabs with 5.3/6.0 are on the lots with 6L80E. Ext. cab & crew cabs with 6.0 are Vmax's or max trailer package and I think they come with the 6L80E anyways. 5.3 ext. cabs are still 4 speeds though.

Unfortunately, they do exist. With a 6.0L. Further, you can build one. Go try it. It needs to be at least a SLE/3SA. But I can't find one with side airbags. There is one in Colorado and one in New Jersey that have what I want but no side airbags.

There are a handful in Texas that I have found through inventory searches.

Example:
http://www.chevrolet.com/ws/nvlWindo...optionCode=1LT

It's a ext-cab extra short bed 2wd.

And wrathcom, I feel your pain about the wheel situation. Why GM doesn't let you choose whatever size wheel you want on a $35K+ truck is just dumb.

Well sure, but it's still silly. I mean you can order the smaller size wheels on a truck with the 78" bed, but not on the same exact truck with the 69" bed.

If I were in the new truck market, that thing would be gone.
