I venture to say not becouse a cylinoid controls the lifters during AFM.
I would be hesitant to run it again becouse if you start revving your motor up for a bit you can pump all your oil to the top pretty easily. Also I feel the 5 hp you may get is really not worth its problems its been known to have in a normal warm weather car or truck. There's the above pumping all the oil to the top, it can be a nortorious leaker, and it can burn out the tail pipe too easily for me.
All being said I ran it in Gen1 SBC's, and that might of contributed to part of the problem. Even though I took care and built them to run the oil I always found a problem here or there that 5W wouldn't cure.
But if I was in some place cold I would not hesitate using it for a winter oil as which it was deigned for. Not my stupid hot rod fantasy I live.

when does the AFM kick in on a cold engine? Prolly once it is warm right?

AFM kicks in at cruising speeds at light throttle conditions. When you apply more throttle or start up a grade it disengages. I can't see how running the 0w-30 would effect the AFM. However what would be gained by running the 0w-30 vs 5w-30??? If in a super cold climate like minus 20 degrees I could see running the 0w-30.

As far as AFM kicking in i can not get it to go in no matter what till the temp gage is almost to the 210 spot.

I heard of people tuning the AFM with less sensitivity to increase mpg, but they have to have the basics in play for it to work. Also you would need cruise control becouse the foot will never work.
I can get 21-22 when I cruise un-tuned, but I wonder how could I do with a tuned AFM motor with my safe bolt-ons? Maybe 27mpg? I hear a tuned 4.8 with some bolt-ons can do up to 25mpg.
The above figuress you'll keep the 17's with decent tires.
