Mobile or Amsoil 0-30 synthetic works best for me. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for awhile, its worth the few extra $.

I run Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic and Mobil 1 or K%N oil filter and change every 5000 miles. Blackstone Labs says that according to my oil analysis, my engine is wearing like it has 30K on it and not the 142K it really has on it.

I would say so. I made the first change at 1000 miles (went with dino oil again) and went synthetic at 5K and that was 135K ago. Now if you have high mileage (over 60K) I would not recommend. I have seen motors develop leaks after running dino for so long then switching to synthetic. Something about the sludge buildup from dino oil getting removed after running synthetic for a while resulting in leaks. My 2 cents.

Its safe have no worries is still low mileage. Remember once you go synthetic you got to run synthetic all the time no matter what you cant go back to regular. I have used Royal Purple 5w30 and 15w30, and currently running on a fresh Mobile1 5w30 oil change. Truck is running like a champ with 28K miles.

Damn 0-30w!!! Now, is that safe to run on these motors 99-05 4.8.5.3's???
That seems like oil only used on high performance motors not bone stock.

Birdman go with either Royal Purple or mobile 1

THANKS GUYS FOR THE INPUT, YES AND I DID KNOW THAT WHEN YOU GO SYNTHETIC I CANT GO BACK TO REGULAR OIL..... I NEED TO CHANGE IT THIS WEEKEND BECAUSE i AM TIRED OF CHANGING IT EVERY 2500 MILES.... AND PLUS IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE BETTER FOR THE MOTOR...
