Default YOU try finding a Torque Converter... (LONG)

Well as many of you know, i'm not in the U.S.A. I am currently half way across the world, unable to conduct business as usual.

i just wanted to tell you guys the whole dilemma i had with trying to figure out where the hell my TC went.

I ordered a Yank 3000 and trans cooler from Tbyrne. well the trans cooler went UPS and the TC came from Yank via Fed Ex. before i left i had my address changed so mail would go to my parents house in indiana. well i totally forgot that fed ex and ups dont run off the same service that the US postal service does (my bad).

anyway, 2 weeks after i ordered the packages tbyrne i asked him for the tracking numbers because i was curious as to why they hadnt shown up at my parents house. after checking the numbers i found out they had been delivered to Tucson, az. at my old address... DOH!

so i tried contacting the apartment complex to see if they had the packages... which the first girl i talked to was a total bitch... sayin **** like,"i cant give you that info", and crap like that. I was like, what the hell? i used to live there! you could at least try to help me out..... she said i should try the delivery services, so they could track them. i said i had and i know that they are there. it took me about 3 tries with different people to get anything out of anyone. until i finally threatened to get them shut down by reporting them to the base for not being military cooperative, then they started to respond.

UPS had dropped it off at the office and Fed Ex left theirs on the door step, which i dont know why... sounds like a stupid plan. so i find later that the trans cooler is in the office, so i'm like, ok, cool.

but no one knew where my Yank was! i'm flippin out cuz that thing isnt exactly inexpensive. so after a week of calling people and getting my mom involved (she is a persistent lady... she even called tom and bothered him)

i finally located the yank.... it turns out my nosey neighbor (he's gay and ex navy) took my package, cuz he knew i left, and opened it. saw the dome like shape of it and thought it was a bomb. so he called the Tucson bomb squad and i guess they figured out it was safe..

so now the packages are together, waiting to be sent to indiana, to my parents house... hopefully everything is still in tact and not all jacked up....

this brings me to a question... would it be good to install the TC in indiana and then drive it to arizona?.. or should i wait and install it in az so i can give it time to break in and not worry about highway driving with it?...

I put mine in on Tuesday night (YANK TT3000) and immediately drove it all over Gods' creation! I don't expect highway driving, even as long as that trip is, will harm the converter in any way. I think the trans cooler will definately help tho by keeping the increased (due to the converter) trans temps down. When I first drove the truck, it seemed almost TOO loose for my liking, but the more I drive it the more I like it. Can't wait to get some new track times! Good luck!

That was the best part of the whole stopry ... he thought it was a bomb. LMAO!!!! I bet he was having flashbacks of all the loud conversations that ever took place in your apartment.

sometimes we got really drunk and would stand outside, and i would tell my friends all the weird **** i had seen, so then they would start being ******** and be yelling **** all loud and obnoxcious... id have to grab them and pull em' inside, but it was still funny.

my neighbor wasnt all that bad though... just really annoying, like offering me nasty food he would make, and he would water my rocks when it got really hot...

the dude was messed up.
