Default Wiring turn signal mirrors Q.....

Search engine is not working right now.

My brother is getting some OEM turn signal mirrors (not the complete folding mirror, just the mirror w/ the arrow) tommorow for his 99 GMC Sierra. Has anyone installed some on a pre 03 truck? If so, how do we wire them to work properly? Thanks

I installed the Muth signal mirrors on my 2000 GMC and you grnd the blacks and tap the hots into the turn signal ckt which was light blue and dark blue on my year truck but may be different for your model. Do you also have the heat element in the mirrors? If so as long as you have a rear defroster the wiring will already be in place.

Thanks for the reply 00z71sierra. My brothers truck does not have a rear defrosting mirror. We are going to wire the mirror just so the turn signals blink. . Where did you find the light blue and dark blue wires? Where do I look for them? Thanks again.

The wires going into the BCM under the steering column. Look for a whole mess of wires going into a connector and it's in that pack. I tested them anyway with a probe to make sure I got the right ones.
