Default will this 6.0 crank work with my 60e??

i noticed my 4.8 crank sat almost flush with the rear main seal cover, but the 6.0 crank stuck out a little over a 1/4 inch..it looks like it has sort of spacer on the end of the crank. will my 60e still work with this? can this spacer be removed?.anyone run into this issue?? its a 2006 lq4.

did you try and revmoving the spacer?

It looks like the one that goes between the crank and flywheel.

Just knock the adapter off the rear of the crank and you will be good to go. It was just the factory spacer to allow the use of a 4L80E behind your engine, which must have come from a 2500 or 3500 series.

2000+ are compatable with the 60E i believe, unless there were some iron head 6.0s in 2000?

Have you tried removing it?

i thought it was 2004 and up that where the compatable ones..i tried getting it off there..didnt really put any effort into it tho. seems like its pressed on. might need a steering wheel type puller to get it off.

99-00 4.8L with a manual transmission & 99-00 6.0L with iron heads had the wide flange crankshafts. 6.0Ls from 2001 and up had aluminum heads and the narrow flange crankshaft.

Note the two threaded holes in the adapter. These holes are used to assist in removing the adapter from the crank flange because the register between these two parts can be tight, especially if effected by rust or corrosion.
