Ok experts here is the scoop, my wife has a 2003 Yukon XL Denali and I just bought a 2002 Denali pickup that is slower and gets 2 mpg less than hers, both have the 6.0 with AWD and the same gears, hers is #500 heavier also. What gives? Do they come with a different tune? My engine seems lazy from 4000 rpm and up where hers pull like crazy. Both are in perfect tune with low miles. Thanks in advance.

Yeah did you line them up? I would think the truck would be faster too and get better mpg. You know also you may have a heavier foot then her so that could explain the mpg difference.

 

Or he could just be a hefty fellah.........

 

 

 

Thanks for the replys, I have a G-TECH I use and a section of freewan I run to check the mileage. I think the truck may have a more conservative tune from the factory to keep people from damaging the engine with heavy loads?

order a nelson tune for that truck and then it will beat it and get better mileage

 

if its one of those 20$ g-techs from ebay throw it out the window. i turned it on on while i was running down the 1/4 and it read almost a full second off!

 

I agree they are not the best but it works well to compare mods and vehicles. I have a 1984 Rustang I drag race and if I set the mount up level it can be very accurate, I run 12.9 @109 on street tires. Has anyone tried a Jesse tune?
