I hear ya on that, I got the 35's but on about 2 weeks ago, they look damn good and I get tons and tons of comment on it, but the truck is such a dog compared to before, Still think every once and a while about returning it to stock height get my wheels painted black and get some good street rubbers. Well, regardless which wheels you decide to go with, would you please consider going with the blackwalls out on the tires. I like everything about your truck except the white letters showing. Tint would help too.

Now to my G80 awesomeness story. Used to have a '88 K5 Blazer with 3.73 G80. It ran pretty strong for a stock TBI 350. Anyways, on my way home one day I came up to an intersection that had a big puddle of water at the stop sign. Looked just like a waterbox at the dragstrip to me. I stopped, got the tires spinning and proceeded to do my funny car burnout across the intersection hump. Apparently the G80 didn't like going over the hump too much because once the weight of the Blazer shifted back downwards....kabooom! Clunk...clink...clunk. I thought it was just the U-joint...wrong. I had some wrenches with me so I pulled out the rear driveshaft and figured I could limp it home by using the 4x4 to power the front wheels. It worked for about a quarter mile until the parts in the rear diff got jammed and locked the rear wheels up. Trailered it home and opened the diff...looked just about like the pic that howard posted. Everything was trashed...axle splines, carrier, gears, etc. It was cheaper to get a whole complete rear axle housing from a junkyard than to piece it back together, so that's what I did. Fun times.

thats probably because the fuzz sometimes have black steelies whith the chrome center... or atleast around here they do. sorry a little random but i thought i might have fingered it out!!

I remember when my g80 grenaded on me. I just found the whole housing with axles rotors etc.... Did my swap. good as new. When I removed the wounded rearend. all I could hear was the broken metal falling around in it.

Well, Mine lasted about a year behind a 408.

That said.. it went out at the track, launching at 3200RPM, along with tearing up part of my transmission..

It got me home, and to work and back the next morning before I parked her for repairs.

I feel I got my use out of it lol. I am pulling axle out now(break time) and then doing an 80E swap sometime this fall.. hoping to have her driving again by thanksgiving so I can toast my truck as what I am thankful for!
