[QUOTE=creederado]I figure out a way to lock in the rear axle so it doesn't move while I remove everything, that way when I do the 4 link I can take my time and not worry about it being crooked and ****.
[\QUOTE]

Have you seen KP's bolt in 4-link kit? It is typically used with bags, but Sportside5.3 here has fabbed in QAL coil overs.

Most likely the one I'll use.
Sportside pics and advise helped alot.

To lock in the rear axle I'd fab up a bunch of angle iron and weld the axle housing to the frame with it. You can just cut it all out and grind it down with some flap disc and you won't even be able to tell it was done. The other option is take about 50 measurements and draw it out on paper.
actually I took a piece of treaded rod and pipe and will replace the shockes with it.
That way i can adjust the height and weld a gusste for the rod to the axle to keep it form turning forward.

While I'm 4 linking it i was going to lower the rear approx 1"

Thanks for more ides though.

I think I may start this sooner than later.

I'll keep you guys posted about the leafs/caltracs.

does anyone need the whole package?
Because ifI sell the caltracs separately i'll need to press in a new bushing on the leafs before I sell them.

i have a 99 also, i plan on keeping my truck for a while , especially with the mods i have put into it.. and when bushings and stuff like that start to go (tranny and engine also) ill just replace them better than they were before. (6.0L,4l80..ect). this is what i like to do (my hobbie) and theres no where else i would spend the money.. and i think also, the money i spend on it , after a year(s) the money you spent or if you would have saved it, would be neither here nor there.
