Default who would I get a new door key cylinder through?

When my car was broken into, they destroyed and pushed in the key cylinder in the door handle. Would I have to get a new one through GM? This is a great chance for me to upgrade to the painted yukon handles as well

Happened to my buddy's impala. Got the cylinder from gm, and they also had to key it to his original key. Want to say it was in the neighborhood of $175. Was like $50 to key it. I suppose you could try and find a cylinder at a junkyard or somewhere and then have it keyed.

Holy Sh*t

In that case I think I will just put a handle on there with no keyhole and remove the cylinder assembly.

Several of us probably have them lying around. When I got my Escalade handles, the right one didn't have a key hole. If I run into it anytime soon, I'll let you know.

I have no probelms with not having a key hole on the driver's side. But I just need to figure out what to do with the cylinder and the metal rod inside the door. Right now it's just rattling around inside the door bugging the hell out of me. Hopefully there is a way to just disconnect it.

Here's what I did.

There's a plastic clip holding the cylinder to the metal rod. Unsnap it and remove the cylinder. Then zip tie the rod out of the way so it doesn't interfere when the window rolls up and down.

Thanks. I will do that.

Now I just got to find some pewter door handles, 1 with keyhole and 1 without.

because I'm not paying $175 for it. I can count the numbers of times I've ever used the key manually to open the door in the past 9 years on my hand. I'll still have the key hole on the passenger side in case my FOB dies.
