If it is 60" then there are two numbers in the part number of the belt that will have 60 in it. That should help some of you figure it out.

so when you get your UD pulley you will need a different size belt to do the short belt trick??? if so, then you want to sell me the current one that you have, it should work on mine if I still have the stock UD pulley right??

I would tell you a better converter like a Fuddle...Transgo Shift kit remove more TM, and race gas with more timing...Cometic Head gaskets to raise compression, some roller rockers might be nice...

Cometic Head gaskets to raise compression

how much would it raise it and what would it be worth powerwise? i already plan a transgo and 100% tm loss, just dont have the time with school and all. i like my trailblazer stall, but want more stall from it now. 3000-3200 sounds comfortable. i think ill just get it restalled.

with the stock crank pulley the shortbelt is 60" like stated by tdrumm.
i believe with the u/d pully the shortbelt is 55", i'm not positive though.

all you do when you go to the parts store is tell them the length for your application and how many ribs/grooves wide. ex: 60" long, 6 ribs/grooves wide. i got mine from advance auto for $10.

i can tell you first hand tests, i gained 10hp/10tq across the board on the dyno w/ the shortbelt. (that's with the stock pulley too).

also last wed for t&t, for the 1st pass i left the stock belt on and the pass headlight in. 1 hour later, for the 2nd pass i put the shortbelt on and removed the pass headlight, and what do you know i picked up exactly 2/10's and 1mph. no b/s here.

Question

Do you have to use the alternator in belt loop? Was just curious because I would think the battery would be able to withstand a single 1/4 run without having a loss in amps going to the plugs. The alt does create quite a bit of drag when it is in the load or charging cycle.
