Default what to do?

i went to the track last night and was angry with my truck!! even though the weather was bad i think it still should have went faster. i ran 6 times with the 3rd run being the fastest of 2.48 60' - 10.14 1/8 @ 72.81 - 15.68 1/4 @ 87.26!!!!! my best 60' was only a 2.42 i think its time for some mods! maybe the 6.0L

Get a set of stock 16" aluminum wheels with tires less than 30" in diameter for racing. I bet those 20's are really slowing you down. My best 1/8 mile time is 9.81 @ 73 MPH with the mods in my signature and no weight reduction. My best 60' is 2.31.

4.8 or 5.3L??
Looks like you need to cut your 60' a bit more. 2800-3000 stall will help.

In his sig it says billet servo... Leads me to believe its an auto/5.3. Wasnt that the only RST truck that got autos were the 5.3 trucks??

Those wheels arent gonna help at all. Throw some stockers out back and try again, get that 60 down.

the one thing that did make me feel good is when it would hit 2nd gear, it would bark the tires for about 2 seconds

Those times aren't too bad for the 4.8. This isn't the time of the year for getting great track times. It's still a few months away.
You have more mods to be had anyways.
If you want to pull out the stops, get the Radix. It can be swapped onto a 5.3 or 6.0 later. It's a great universal mod. The Livernois turbo is another great mod. Either one will set you back over 4K.
Don't give up on the 4.8 just yet. At least kill it before you decide to replace it.
