Want to beat a 1999-2004 Mustang GT

What would it take to beat a 1999-2004 Mustang GT in the 1/4 in my 2004 ECSB z71 4x4 1500?
No nitrous, all motor. Reason I ask is I have a 2001 Mustang GT and I wouldnt mind my truck being as quick or faster.

Boltons custom tune cam stall gears and boom you're there or even easier swap to a 6.0 add a cam. Honestly what does your mustang run? Low 14s? It doesn't take much to get into the low 14s.

Maybe stock....My brother and I had a 2003 GT PI 4.6 with an automatic and 2.87s with about 80K on it. Bought it fairly cheap because it had a "cracked head". The cracked head was actually a broken intake manifold. The guy had slapped some kind of cone filter on the stock maf and it was literally bouncing around the engine compartment. It also had a horrible case of misfire. We changed the intake manifold (actually used a Dorman which we later read and saw evidence of a 10+ HP loss but a torque gain), spark plugs, and coil boots. Installed a 160*F thermostat. A BBK CAI with filter through fender opening, an elbow and throttle body IIRC 70mm, a BBK offroad X pipe, flowmaster catback, and a used hypertech programmer set for premium fuel. Put some meaty 275/40R17s in the back. No weight reduction, middle of summer it ran 8.70 @ 82 in the 1/8. Went back in fall and ran 8.40s @ 85-86 mph in the 1/8. Never had it at the 1/4 track, but that kind of 1/8 ET and MPH is good for a low 13 @ ~105 mph. My brothers buddy had a 2005 3-valve automatic GT and the 03 gave it a good run STOCK. Curb weight was about 3,250 and race weight with a solo driver about 3,450-3,500 depending on it it was me or the lighter brother driving. The car stock made about 260 hp/300tq and a ET/HP calculator put it about about 295/360 at the flywheel. Car dyno'd about 255/308 on a Dynojet. They are not as weak as you would think.

I took it as he was talking about a bone stock one, so my comment refers to a bone stock one. everyone has heard about a fast mustang...just don't see them often
