Default V6 mpg?

did some searching and couldn't hardly find anything searching with V6 or 4.3.

So i feel like mine should be better than 16 city and 17-18 highway.

06RCSB V6 5-speed all stock other than a flowmaster 40 in place of the stock muffler.

anyone getting any better?

do you think a Tune, or CAI, would make a noticeable difference?

my grandpa is getting 16-17 in his 07 RCSB with 4.3
That's why it's not worth buying the 4.3.

I get the same mileage in my cammed extended cab with 4.30's and 3000 stall.

The 4.3 was definitely intended for the smaller trucks IMO. My father has 2 96 Blazers, one of which he signed over to me, and the one I have gets about 22mpg on the highway, while the other gets 19 (can't explain why one gets better mileage than the other). Good mileage numbers, but these trucks have no marbles! After driving powerful V8's for so many years, this Blazer feels anemic! But at least it moves, unlike my truck

I have a 97 RCSB 4.3 2wd truck with a 5 speed and 342 gears. In town I get 20 and if I do straight highway driving between 60-65mph without creeping around any small towns I get about 24mpg. That's with no tonneau cover and I'm still running the stock 15" steel wheels and michelin LTX M/S tires. Truck has 130K miles on it and the only mods are a hypertech power programmer, cat delete and a turbo muffler

I get 17-18mph and I don't drive for economy. I think I could probably get around 19 if I drove like a normal person.

I don't understand a full size truck with a V6, especially if you consider how low-tech the 4.3 really is. A 4.3 is basically a Gen 1 smallblock with 2 cylinders chopped off. It's tried, true, and proven....but old. The mileage benefit is negligible and you don't have the power a full size truck should have. IMO, 4.3's belong in either a bagged show truck or a medium duty work truck.
