Default Victory is mine!!!

I have been chasing a squeak for weeks now. Originally, I thought is was the belt going bad, changed it, squeak went away. Great. Nope, not so much, about 1K later, the squeak is back. Changed the belt again, squeak went away again, maybe it was just a crappy belt. Ahhhhhh notsomuch. It came back again within about three days. Finally got some heater hose, the squeak is coming from behind the water pump pulley. I converted from clutch to efans a while back, but I still have the same pulley (with the thread sticking out where the clutch fan threaded on). I am assuming that I need a new water pump (its not leaking or anything, jsut squeaking). My question is can I use one that was designed for efans from the factory? Is it possible because the pump isn't leaking, that I can just change the pulley? Any insight is appreciated.

I was under the impression that the pulley was pressed on, and the 05+ water pumps that I've seen still have the threaded nub on the pulley, so I'll bet that they're the exact same part. I doubt that just changing the pulley would cure anything anyway, unless the pulley was damaged or nicked and causing a problem with the belt. If you suspect the noise to be coming from the water pump, it would probably be the front bearing that is giving you the problem if anything...

You got it man...and I'd stick with a stock pump personally, not a fan of electric pumps for a daily driver.
