Default Upper Intermediate Shaft & Lower Column Bearing Questions

hey guys
on my 06 silverado ECSB 4x4 /w 4.8L and 4L60E
I'm getting the infamous clunking / column rattle when turning and going over bumps. I've hit google and read through lots of other forums and havent found a good or direct answer.
has anyone had luck with the updated Dorman 905512 (GM 88963617) Green bearing?
has anyone had luck with the updated Dorman 425176 (GM 19153614) Upper Intermediate Shaft?
Every thread I read through, one guy had it come back after 2 months, another guy gets 20k and it comes back etc etc. I havent seen anyone replacing both at the same time, would that be a good idea?

Definitely quite the upgrade.
Are those the gm upgrade or the dorman ones?

Dorman, figured GM couldn't make it right the first time so might as well try aftermarket.

I need to replace both in my 03 so I might put in GM parts to see how they hold up I'll keep you posted.

Thats a good call about gm crapping the bed first time around haha.
Did the bearing just pop out once the upper shaft was removed?
Did you have to remove your gas pedal?

The Dorman Is just a reboxed part. Its probably from the same vendor that makes it for AC Delco.

I first replaced the bearing with the green one a few yrs ago, then went to a dorman shaft which was at least a yr ago if not 2. Its just now ever so slightly starting to clunk again when making turns and hitting bumps, also seems to depend on the temp outside how bad it does it imo..
But yes it will come back eventually, but worth it not having the shitty gm shafts in there. The bearing will just pop off the end of column once the int shaft is removed iirc. Im also staring to get some play in what feels like right behind the wheel which im assuming is the upper most bearing in the column, which id imagine wont be fun to replace..

I moved my gas pedal so I could have a little more room to work with. Had to persuade it in and out with a hammer, screw driver, and some lithium grease. Struggled with it a little bit.
