Default Two trucks,one buck/Need gurus

Hi everyone,I'm Louis,from Montreal.

I am a machinist,car guy,a BMW fanatic with
a new found but none the less deep affection
for GMT800 trucks. What started as a need for
a pickup to haul a track car ended up as a new
passion.Yeah,I love these trucks.

I own two pickup,the first is a 07 Classic
2500hd 6.0 RWD.It currently has 110K miles.
It cost me 11000$(with interest rates),I only
did 9000miles with it before I exploded the
torque converter clutches.I absolutely must
remove the rust this summer.

The other is a 03 2500LD 6.0 RWD,250K miles.
I bought it after I broke the first one, paid 1500$
for it and put 25000 miles on it,go figure.

So,one thing for sure,I am dismantling the 07
HD and will sandblast the frame.I will do the
big job.

But then,since I have projects for the HD,that I
wont tell now for simplicity sake.I'm left with a healthy 07 LQ4/4L80e,10.5" 4.10 differential, steering and suspension parts that are way
tighter than my 250000 miles 03 2500LD.I want
to transfer as much as possible from the HD to
the LD.

The question is,what do you know interchange
or not,especially steering,suspension,brakes
and diff.Keep in mind,I am a machinist so if modifications or fabrication is need it is not a problem.

Any info regarding these is greatly appreciated.

Restoration and build thread to come!

For the most part everything should swap over.

The LD had a 9.5 Semi float rear end while the HD had 10.5 rear end. The only exception would have been a 6.6L diesel or the 8.1L which received an 11.5 rear end and used an Allison transmission instead of 4L80E

I think the rear spring packs and the front torsion bars where also different.

Thank you Fast Brick,I saw you in many thread
while I searched the web for info without being
registered.I am slowly coming out of the dark.

After further search and thinking,I come to the
conclusion there will be no part swap between
my two pickups. The steering box is different,
could be made to fit.The axle can be swap, the
shocks can be made to fit.But in the end,it
become a multitude of mini-projects that hurt
my brain!

I will dismantle,sandblast,paint and reassemble
the 2500hd.That's it.Oh,I want to gap the rings,
put arp rod bolts, clean the 317's,put o-rings with
a new head gasket in my 07 LQ4.Top it with my
TBSS intake. Will also replace the TC in my tranny
and flush it,new gaskets and probably a shift kit.

The cherry on top will be twin turbos.

I will take pics for a sandblast/paint thread and
would do another one later when I reassemble
it with the goodies.

All the best,Louis aka as Classic Sh*t !
