Default truck overheated WTF!

i was driving around today and my truck was running at 210*. i didn't think it was bad. so i keep driving. i stoped at a red light and looked down 257*so i pulled in a parking lot and shut it off. let it cool down to about 180* and drove home. i put a LS1 fan and 160* stat on it about a month ago. so WTF happened

the fan works, i put A/C on and the fan kicked on. i also took it for a ride and itdid not go over 180*. but when i stop about 30mins later and let the truck run it went to 210* within 2 mins. so would that be the t-stat

Why do you need to check? You just said it wasn't running.

That's good, at least you know that circuit is working. You need to get the temp circuit working.
