If the tranny or rear doesn't go, watch, something else will. Our trucks are notorious for having weaks trans, I had 2 Fords before, and those things were in the shop more than on the street...either they suck...or my luck does with Fords...

Go for it Santiago. I nearly traded for one last month. Dealer had 4 of them on the lot with $27,999 on the window. It was very tempting.

But you also dont hear them saying "Hey I just dropped 30 thousand on a stock truck"

You can hear me say "Hey I droped 20k on my truck and it took 7 to get into the 12's, what should I do with the extra 3k I didnt spend on a FORD"

Yeah, it's stock. But a stock truck that has a blown engine putting out 380 hp and 450 tq with a drive line and suspension built for it. That's like saying I spent 50K for a stock Corvette. Yeah a Z06 Vette that has 405 hp and 405 tq. I agree you could buy a cheap Silverado and drop some money into it and it may beat a Lightning. The Lightning and all it's parts come with a full factory warranty. Will GM honor your warranty after you're popped a blower, trans and rear end in the truck trying to get it as fast as a STOCK Lightning. I bet not!

You're telling me that if you bought an L, you would just leave it stock? I guess, where's the fun in that?
You gotta pay to play man. $30k for a blown 5.4 that only runs mid 14s?
If you add bolt ons...will Ford warranty any broken parts?
I still would rather spend $30k and have a sick *** GM sport truck

GM shouldn't void a warranty because of bolt on's as you said, so I don't know if Ford would for "normal bolt on's". A blower, trans and rear end aren't normal bolt on's. No, I wouldn't leave it stock, but I don't think an intake, exhaust and tuning as we've all done to our trucks would hurt and the Lightning would get faster. The 99-00 Lightnings ran mid 14's, the 01 and newer are closer to low 14's or high 13's. From what I've read, it takes about 1K to get them into the 12's, get a pulley, intake and chip, and they run high 12's. Name me one GM truck currently made that even does mid 14's stock, the Silverado SS is a joke as far as straight line performance for what they cost. If you want to get a Gibbs or Chapman truck do it. Some people are GM die hards and that fine, if I find another truck that I like better, I don't care if it isn't a GM. Some won't buy the Titan or Tundra just because it's Japanese, even if they were better trucks (not saying they are, just if). I may go drive a Titan, if I like it, I may buy if it does what I need and does them better than my Silverado, who knows? All these aftermarket sound systems guys are buying for their trucks, I'll bet most aren't made in the USA. And, the Titan and Tundra my be Japanese in design but they're both assembled in the US. Are good old US trucks, are assembled in Canada and Mexico.

Good point
I was behind a Ram today
Had a big Union sticker - said
"Live in the USA - Work in the USA - Built in the USA"

I thought - Typical dumbass - doesnt even know where his truck is made.
