Default Towed my car home

I'm in the Navy and will soon be transferring. I have a 85 Trans Am for a beater. I was going to sell it but the deal fell through so I decided to rent a Uhaul car carrier and bring it home(SW Louisiana) and let my brothers drive it. I was a little nervous because I just installed ls1 fans less than a week ago and I wasn't sure how cool they would keep the engine. The empty weight of the trailer is 2000 lbs plus about 3600 for the car. I also had some misc. crap I'll be leaving there that was good for about another 3-400 lbs.

Here's some of the things I observed:
1. Cooling is not a problem with the ls1 fans. With the A/C on, it stayed ~185-190*. It was a 450 mile trip.
2. 342 gears suck for towing! I already knew that but I just wanted to say it anyway.
3. Even with all the extra weight, Good Year GTIIs still suck *** on wet pavement! You should not be able to spin at all with that much weight sitting on the rear tires!
4. Our trucks get a little squirly around 90 when you have that much weight on the rear
5. I was impressed with the 14.7 mpg I got. Especially since I had to keep slowing down and speeding up when people kept hitting the brakes for no reason.
6. Uhaul sucks!

I reserved the trailer at 1 location but when I went to pick it up, they sent me all the way across town to a convience store to pick it up. Between rush hour traffic and the guy not knowing how to fill out the paperwork, I was delayed over 21/2 hours! I then had to hook up the trailer because the guy had NO CLUE. He didn't realize that there was a difference between a car carrier and a dolly!

On a side note... I stopped for gas about half way there and I ran in to a girl I graduated high school with! I hadn't seen her since graduation. We chatted for a few minutes then left.

I'm a FC. I've been pulling security here in P'cola. I'll be going out to Dahlgren Va for school then out to San Diego. What rate are/were you? I'm assuming your recruiting out in Okie. Not many Navy bases out there.

The hazing lamp is lit!
Congrats man! I see you're not in Bahrain anymore. When did you get back? Have you had a chance to go home for a visit? You're from Laffyette, right? I'm originally from Grand Chenier, about 1 1/2 hours away. It's SE of Lake Charles.

Like Okie said, start studying now!

I had to stop in Breaux Bridge to get gas on the Sunday of the Crawfish Festival. I thought about stopping for a while on Friday but I was running late.
