I alwas check the gaps between the cab and bed and bed and bumper, if it got hit you will beable to tell. I don't know what 4x4 model you were looking at ,but I'd try and find something with a 4l80e in it, of course, what are your plans with the truck?

Color and smell of tranny fluid.
Oil sludge under cap excessive and or milky oil.
Lower than normal coolant and or oil in water.
Did someone swipe the spare tire?
All the door locks and windows work.
Excessive mud stains on undercarriage.
Paint mis-matching/poor body work.

This is the truck Im looking at, from what I could tell when I looked at it the door locks worked it was all locked up. The Gaps matched very close if I remeber correctly. Where I live is a highly corrosive area because of all the snow and salt so rusty panels are to be exspected but the right front panels are newer and the top of the bed on the passengers side looks like it might of had some body work done to it and is now reprimed. Its got new tires on all four corners, though I cant remeber wether the spare tire is new but it is there. Didnt see any fluids on the ground underneath, and I havent had a chance to pop the hood on it.
I plan on getting this rig in a few months if its still for sale then Im going to completely disassemble it and then completly restore it, then put a lift on it and put some 33's on it and use it for an occasional offroad rig but mainly on road use.

Well I always test drive through a parking lot with speed bumps. They give away small signs and if someone jerry-rigged it. Nothing like the bumper falling off on a test drive that guy used zipties to put the thing together...

I havent seen any puddles under the truck what so ever and its not parked at his house its in a parking lot so its not like he would be there all the time to clean it up , from what I could see there was no holes in the floor, so Im going to try and go out sometime this week with my dad for a test drive, its a private sale so Im not worried about him trying to come with me
