Theft Attempt...Ignition cylinder repalcement...????

Question Theft Attempt...Ignition cylinder repalcement...????

Hey truck got broken into and i had to replace the ignition cylinder ...in the mink of repalcing it i pulled this clip out, and one thing after another, it wont go back in?? Im curious to what this little clip thing is..it seems to be cable operated...goes into drive park all fine....could this be the neutral safety switch???

the red part is where the plastic piece slides into..it seems like a cable of sorts?

Here you go friend......if you need the Ignition Cylynder replacement also, just let me know.

Ignition Switch Replacement - On Vehicle
Removal Procedure
Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
Remove the trim covers from the column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors.



Remove the wire harness assembly (1) from the wire harness strap (2).
Remove and dispose of the smaller wire harness straps.



Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly out of the bulkhead connector (1).



Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the lock module assembly (2).
Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees.
Pull the key alarm connector (1) out of the lock module assembly (2).




Remove the 2 tapping screws (2) from the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1).
Remove the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1) from the lock module assembly.
Installation Procedure




Install the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1) onto the lock module assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Screw the 2 tapping screws (2) into the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1).

Tighten
Tighten the 2 tapping screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).





Install the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
Push the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees so that the key alarm connector (1) locks into place.




Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly into the bulkhead connector (1).
Connect the steering column electrical connectors.



Attach new wire harness straps to the wire harness assembly (1).
Attach the wire harness assembly (1) to the wire harness strap (2).
Install the trim covers to the column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
Install the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR

wow.... you went further than necc to replace the ign switch or cylinder for that matter, unless it was completely destroyed during theft attempt.....that cable I believe is for the shift lock control, keeps the trans in park unless your on the brake pedal.
heres how to get it back in though..

# Connect the park lock cable assembly (1) to the lock module assembly in the following way:

1. Place the steering column lock cylinder set into the off position.
2. Place the shift lever clevis into the park position.
3. Press the locking tab on the end of the park lock cable assembly (1) into the slot in the lock module assembly.

no they mangled it real bad..the insides are all fucked. I dont think thats the shift lock..unplugged it wont go into drive unless foot is on brake...?? sztill trying
