Default In-Tank Fuel Pump replacement for 2000 EC?

The Walbro GSS340,that i read so much about on here, will not work with the 99-02's that have a return system. So........what will, w/o mods?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

I have spent alot of time researching this...it sucks. To do it, you have to mod the stock bucket that the pump sets in. DO a search for that, one of the members did it.

I am notorius for letting my tank get down to the "last drop" and without that bucket I'd be hatin life.

I was informed by Kinsler ( www.kinsler.com ) , that Walbro DOES make an in-tank direct replacement, but needed my VIN and engine size to get correct one. I'm waiting on feedback after sending them that info on my truck. By the way, Earl Miller, at Kinsler has offered some of the best customer service that I have experienced in quite awhile. I highly suggest them for fuel injection info. I haven't purchased anything from them yet, so I don't know what kind of prices they offer yet. He is getting together a price for me on the fuel pump and a set of Multec II (Marine) 44# injectors.

Direct replacement for the MU1089 99-02 chevy truck pump? Do you have a link for the actual pump he is going to sell you? I would be very interested in a direct stock replacement pump that is 255lph+. What's it's rating?

Subject: 2000 Chevy Silverado w/ 5.3L

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab w/ 5.3L that has a return system in-tank fuel pump.

I have been told that there is now a direct replacement Walbro in-tank pump requiring NO MODS.

Is this info correct, and if so, what info can you share and what is the cost?

I am not so sure they are saying it is a 255lph pump. The pump you list in the quote isn't on their website. 49.99 is awefully freaking cheap. I am not saying they are scamming or they are wrong...I just don't see rock solid evidence that you are gonna get a pump/bucket that looks like this and will do 255lph....

more importantly will it directly replace the pump inside this bucket.

The one for 218.85 was confirmed as stock specs, waiting to see details. He is also checking on a 255lph version.

I sent a request for more info on the 49.95 unit. That price on a stock replacement is a fraction of what you can find one any where else though.
I also asked if this vendor had a NO MOD 255lph available as well.
