I was wondering if there is a way to get our stocker mirrors apart for paint? i have a set of extras that ive been pissing around with and cant figure it out, i cant stand just painting the mirrors so that there is paint only as the mirror sits as your driving... then when you fold them in at the track or w/e theres no paint on some of the angles.
i know the glass just pops out but i cant seem to get the part that bolts on to the truck apart from the actual glass housing

thats what i was thinking... the hinge that holds it together looks like a oversized rivet that you dont wanna drill out lol
i ended up getting a set of chrome mirror caps brand new for $10 locally so i think they would clean up great wit the new caps and a little bit of storm gray on them

no biggie if you cant, i guess i was just getting picky

I took my apart when i painted mine. There is a big keeper/nut/thing behind the mirror at the pivot point you have to pop off. The you have to remove a couple of screws, then yell at it for about 15-20mins and it all comes apart. Kinda PIA but well worth the effort. Sorry it was ~1.5 years ago when I did this, but it can be done. Just be careful popping the mirror off, they tend to crack if you bend them to much....
