Default sqeaky steering column

The steering column on my Silvy squeaks when turning it left. Any ideas as to why?

When I turn with my windows up I can hear mine squeak when I take a turn at a slow speed. It seems like its the belt on the power steering though, not the steering columb squeaking.

Probably your steering wheel position sensor's bearing housing.

Mine kind of does the same thing. I will have to look into that at least the part isn't expensive... How hard is it to install???

I had tracked a noise in my steering down to the steering gearbox though so I flushed the system and added some lucas to the system. It is much better now but it still makes a low "squeek" (for lack of a better word) noise that I can feel in the steering wheel and happens when turning slow into my driveway or parking spaces. It is really annoying so maybe this bearing you speak of is bad also...

Yeah it's a very cheap made bearing. It's a hardened bearing in a plastic housing so, you can imagine that they don't have a long shelf life.
