Default speedometer......

just wondering if you guys would know how much mph off i would be once i install my 33" tires..
right now i have 265/70 / or 265/75 tires...
i think that will make the 33" about 2" bigger, i may be wrong..

305/70 according to 4wheelparts on the procom mud terrains. a 35in tire is 315/75....
however... a 305/70 is

Dimension Tire A: 305/70 R 16
Width 12.01" (305.00mm)
Sidewall height 8.41" (213.50mm)
Overall height 32.81" (833.40mm)
Circumference 103.08" (2618.20mm

just guessing if you have 265/75s your speedo will be this....

If your speedometer has been calibrated for 265/75 R 16 tires, replacing them with 305/70 R 16's would result in the speedometer reading low by 3.54%. Example: at 70 mph you would actually be running 67.52 mph with the "33s."
As far as gearing goes, if you have a 3.73 rearend and 265/75 R 16 tires, changing to 305/70 R 16's would be the same as if you kept your current wheels and tires but changed your rearend gears to 3.60's

With the 265/70s:
If your speedometer has been calibrated for 265/70 R 16 tires, replacing them with 305/70 R 16's would result in the speedometer reading low by 6.72%. Example: at 70 mph you would actually be going 65.30 mph with the "33s."
As far as gearing goes, if you have a 3.73 rearend and 265/70 R 16 tires, changing to 305/70 R 16's would be the same as if you kept your current wheels and tires but changed your rearend gears to 3.48's

I did this all because I know you couldn't figure it out on your own, moron. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Just pull the needle off when you are going 65 and put it on 70 that should fix you up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" />

ok moron, puttin a larger tire on the truck would be the same thing as swaping gears to a higher (numerically lower) gear, since the tires are couple inches taller = more circumference. Do i need to go back and get the circumferences for the different tires for you so you will under stand? or what....

in other words you'll be slower off the get go and have a little more top end pull....

That gear calculator there seems to be backwards though. But the speedo calculator seems right.

but you'll have to know if they are 315/70s or whatever.... for 16in wheels most tires arent 33/12.50s like on 15in wheels.... most that i've seen have a 315 width and like a 70 or somewhere around there sidewall....
