Anyone else have an issue with speed engineering headers having a clearance issue with 4l80 trans bellhousing. Passenger side second to last primary tube is touching my tans case. 99-06.5

1 3/4 lts

Is it the bolt tab for the cover? I cut mine off I don’t run the cover. iirc it would have hit if I didn’t cut it off.

I cut that ear off mine with a sawzall else it would’ve hit it.

I have 1 7/8 had to cut that tab off as well.

Looks like i will be cutting the tab off of both the bellhousing and shield. seems shoddy this was never corrected, i managed to get it bolted up without being forceful and looked underneath installing starter to find its touching. Merp. #shouldaspentmore

FWIW it’s a common thing.

I have TSP headers also.

seems pretty silly they didnt just tweak the pipe a little bit to get them to clear, the room it there. wonder if the kooks also rub the bell. not a happy camper. speed engineering for the lose.

That’s a common issue with all headers. Cut the tab off.

thats the plan. just stating they should have taken the time to get it to clear the 80e. pretty dumb to have to take a cut off wheel to a trans i took the time to base and clear.

Most if not all headers are designed for the 1500 trucks that don’t have a 80e.
